Additional conditions for international students

For international students, who do not have permanent residence status, there are further conditions in order to comply with their Australian visa requirements.

  • International students are permitted to take one semester of RIIERP with RMIT recording that semester as a reduced study load. This will not affect the student’s place in the program and will provide the regulatory compliance to facilitate the student’s visa extension related documentation from RMIT later on.
  • International students may participate in RIIERP for two semesters with the understanding that their Australian visas may be cancelled, requiring them to apply for a new Australian visa from off-shore before returning to Australia to resume their studies.
  • We strongly recommend you to contact the International Student Services Centre at ISvisa@rmit.edu.au to discuss your options.
