I participated in RIIERP as a postgraduate student in RMIT’s manufacturing engineering department. During my RIIERP placement I worked at Rolls Royce in the UK, and was ultimately offered a full-time job with the company.
Currently I’m working as a technologist in the department of critical parts lifting and integrity at Rolls Royce plc UK. The program has certainly helped me in my career development by providing me with a great opportunity to get access to one of the world’s best companies. At the end of the program I secured a permanent position in the company which was kind of an achievement for me in today’s competitive environment.
RIIERP helps students to understand how industries work practically. It allows them to put all those principles and methods they have learnt into practice. Students get the chance to work for Fortune 500 companies and experience their way of working. On a cultural note, participation in RIIERP offers students the opportunity to experience different work cultures as well as different social cultures.
