I participated in the RIIERP program to complete my final year Aerospace Engineering theses at ENSMA. My stay in France involved a project which was an experimental investigation into the flow inside a model of a thrust reverser, found on civil airliner engines.
When I was tossing up the idea of going overseas to carry out my Bachelor thesis, by taking as extra 9 months as an exchange student, I asked a number of people for advice. I can paraphrase their response: “This will be an experience that will change your outlook on life, people and yourself forever. It is an opportunity to really live and grow”. I took that opportunity and have not once regretted it. To me the experience through my short stay in a foreign land was the best education I have ever had.
