In 2009, the Victorian government announced major changes to TAFE education under the Securing Jobs for Your Future: Skills for Victoria reforms which took effect from 1 July 2009.
However, under the ‘fee maintenance’ scheme students who commenced their programs before 1 July 2009 are entitled to continue to be charged in accordance with the fee structure in place at the time of their initial enrolment in that program. This arrangement will remain in place until they either complete their studies, withdraw from their program or until the deadline of 31 December 2012. Fee maintenance rates are subject to annual indexed increases as directed by Skills Victoria.
This policy does not apply to students who commenced a new program after 1 July 2009.
