The RMIT Teaching Awards were established to recognise, reward, and celebrate excellence in teaching practice and exemplary support services for teaching and learning.

There are twenty categories and subcategories of awards that acknowledge the work of Higher Education and TAFE academic and teaching staff, sessional and general staff involved in making the student experience meaningful and successful.

Learning and Teaching Investment Fund (LTIF)

The RMIT Academic Plan 2010 [PDF, 141KB, 19 pages] describes a number of initiatives for RMIT to achieve its academic aspirations, including an approach to learning and teaching that is characterised by a rigorous scholarship of teaching and quality student learning experiences.

The Learning and Teaching Investment Fund (LTIF) aims to support this approach through strategic investment in new learning and teaching ideas and professional development for staff.

The Australian Learning and Teaching Council (ALTC)

The Australian Learning and Teaching Council (formerly the Carrick Institute for Learning and Teaching in Higher Education) was established in 2004 as a national focus for the enhancement of learning and teaching in Australian higher education providers.

ALTC offers a range of support and recognition opportunities, as well as networks for staff to share information, knowledge, experience and participate in research into learning and teaching.
