
Facilities Services is responsible for the operations, maintenance, functional services, cleaning and security of RMIT University’s facilities and grounds across the City, Bundoora and Brunswick campuses and RMIT Hamilton.
Facilities Services consists of four key management units with 80 staff and an operating budget of $30 million.
Responsible for programmed and reactive maintenance of all the University’s mechanical and essential services, including air conditioning, lighting and plumbing.
Responsible for the management of the University’s contracted services, including mail services, furniture removal, internal deliveries, cleaning, waste disposal, recycling, vermin control, window cleaning and hygiene bins.
Responsible for the maintenance and administration of fire suppression and detection systems, the co-ordination of emergency planning and evacuation drills and the carrier of the University’s Business Continuity Plan.
Responsible for the patrolling of all campus grounds, the provision of electronic card access and the operation of the Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) and locking systems.
