An information session has been held to promote the exchange opportunities available to TAFE Marketing students in 2010.
RMIT University students Olivia Tanner and Beth Ferguson, who undertook exchange programs in 2009, attended to answer questions and share their international study experience.
Ms Ferguson completed her exchange at VIA University College in Denmark.
“Studying overseas has helped me to create business connections in numerous countries and given me first-hand knowledge about another country’s business techniques,” Ms Ferguson said.
In 2010, TAFE Marketing students will have the opportunity to study at Canterbury College in the UK or VIA University College in Denmark.
The six-month exchange gives students an international perspective and the opportunity to experience different teaching styles and ways of learning.
Students can obtain credit towards their RMIT studies while developing personal and professional networks and enhancing their learning experience and life skills.
“We are really excited about being able to give students the opportunity to take part in transnational education,” Caryl Hertz, Industry Group Manager, Business TAFE School, said.
Kassey Rich is an international exchange student from Iowa, USA.
Ms Rich has studied in Costa Rica, Denmark, Sweden and Germany and has now found her way to Melbourne.
“I have never lived in a big city and I am really enjoying the change,” she said.
“I am majoring in Marketing Management at Kirkwood Community College in Iowa and after getting my AA degree I will complete a Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Marketing and Management at the Illinois Institute of Art in Chicago.”
Last year a number of students from the Business TAFE School took part in international study opportunities.
