The Melba Spiegeltent in Melbourne's Docklands was the venue for the "Meet the Circus Oz Living Archive" event, attended by about 60 performers and crew from Circus Oz.

RMIT researcher Jeremy Yuille from the School of Media and Communication sharing videos at the event.
It was hosted by Dr David Carlin from RMIT University's School of Media and Communication, lead investigator on the Australian Research Council-supported Living Archive project.
RMIT team members including Associate Professor Laurene Vaughan, Adrian Miles, Jeremy Yuille, Associate Professor James Thom, Dr Kim Baston, Dr Jane Mullett, Ana Vaz, Laetitia Shand and Reuben Stanton also attended.
The "Spiegel'vent" was conceived as a fun way to introduce the Circus Oz Living Archive ARC project to the Circus Oz community.
For more than 30 years, Circus Oz has collected recordings of its performances, rehearsals, TV commercials and interviews.
Dr Carlin said: "The living archive project will turn these resources into a rich media archive to catalyse the creative participation of Circus Oz, peers, fans, scholars and the general public.
"This prototype living archive will become a shared online space for creative dialogue on the history and artistic future of Circus Oz, providing a new model of digital engagement for the performing arts."
The wearing of labcoats, a videoclip screening lottery (the "Barrel of Memories") and individual booths screening selections of videos such as "Kim's Klassics", "Millennium Babies" and "Professor Tait's Mysteries", helped generate excitement about the project.
The Circus Oz Living Archive ARC Linkage project is led by RMIT, with La Trobe University and industry partners Australia Council, Circus Oz and the Victorian Arts Centre Trust.
It is supported by two PhD candidates, one from digital media, and the other from computer science. The project began in February.
