Information Communication Technology Strategy Committee

Authority

This is an advisory committee reporting to the Vice-Chancellor.

Terms of Reference

1. To advise the Vice-Chancellor on matters pertaining to Information Communication Technology Strategy and report on such matters as may be referred to it from time to time by the Vice-Chancellor.

2. To make recommendations to the Vice-Chancellor on plans, policies, structures and investment requirements which:
   
   • are related to the development and maintenance of a communication and information technology infrastructure and information services provision at a leading level within the Australian higher education and TAFE systems;
   
   
   • are capable of implementation to support the University's operational priorities of teaching and learning, research and research training, management of resources and community partnerships as outlined in the University's Strategic Plan; and
   
   
   • represent a University-wide approach achieved through advice and consultation.

3. To review and revise existing information technology policies as required over time.

4. The Chairperson reports each quarter to the Vice-Chancellor regarding the business of the Committee.

5. The committee will make recommendations to the Vice-Chancellor’s Executive Meeting.

6. The Committee will report annually through its Chair to the Vice-Chancellor against its rationale, operations and quality improvement processes.

Membership

The membership will consist of:

• Vice-President Resources (Chair of the Committee)
• Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic
• Pro Vice-Chancellor Research and Innovation or nominee
• Pro Vice-Chancellor Students or nominee
• Pro Vice-Chancellor from each academic College or nominee
• Pro Vice-Chancellor International and Development
• Vice-President Academic, Vietnam
• Executive Director, Information Technology Services
• University Librarian
• Director TAFE

At the direction of the committee, other members may be co-opted as required.

Secretarial support

The Committee will be supported by an Executive Officer of the University Chancellery.

Frequency of meetings

The committee will meet at least twice each semester.
Quorum

Quorum will be half of the number of members plus one member.
